Aaron Smyth was born on the Gold Coast, Australia, He attended the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre on full scholarship, under the direction of Franco De Vita. Smyth was then promoted to ABT II under the Direction of Wes Chapman, with ABT II he performed Grand Pas Classique and Stars and Stripes Pas De Deux, as well as many new choreographic works. Danced demonstrations at the Guggenheim Museum, he also performed in leading roles in Jessica Lang’s La Belle Danse, Vivace Mottifs and Oblivion.
Smyth was Australian Dancer of The year 2006, a Finalist at the Prix De Lausanne 2010, won the Silver Medal (Partner) at the USA International Ballet Competition 2010, Silver medal at the Cape Town International Ballet Competition 2012 and won the Gold Medal at the Genee International Ballet Competition as well as the Bravo Audience Choice Award 2008, he was awarded the RAD Solo Seal award and was a Top 4 Finalist in Australia’s Got Talent Television Series.
He performed at the Metropolitan Opera House at ABT’s 2009 Spring Gala, introduced by the First Lady Michelle Obama, as well as the AT&T Medalists Encore Gala in Jackson, Mississippi 2010, the Royal Academy of Dancing’s Gala in Tokyo Japan, The International Ballet Gala in South Africa, the Stars of the 21st Century Gala and the Young Stars of Ballet gala in Indianapolis in 2011. Aaron is now an Artist with the Royal Ballet in London.
