Alex Kramer was born in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the age of 7, he began taking ballet at The Institute of Dancing Arts in Grand Junction under the direction of Diane Revie. He trained privately with Jean-Philippe Malaty in Aspen as well as with Valerie Madonia in Telluride. During the summer of 2008, Kramer participated in Ballet West’s Summer Intensive, where he was offered a full scholarship to study at Ballet West Academy. He has been offered full scholarships to Summer Intensives at San Francisco Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. Kramer attended American Ballet Theatre’s Summer Intensive in New York City from 2009 – 2011. He joined the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at ABT on full scholarship in 2009 and performed with ABT II during their 2011 European tour. Kramer joined ABT Studio Company in September 2011.
Also in 2011, Kramer received the David Hallberg Scholarship. Says Alex, “It has been an incredible honor to have had the support and mentorship of such a phenomenal artist. David has inspired me in so many ways; not only is he an exceptional dancer, but his personality is equally as admirable. I feel truly blessed to have such an amazing role model.”
