He was born in Moscow to the ballet family. He attended the Moscow Choreographic Academy (Ilya Kuznetsov’s class) where he completed his studies in 2006. He joined the Bolshoi Ballet Com-pany that same year.
A Principal at the Bolshoi Ballet, his teachers-repetiteurs are Mikhail Lavrovsky and Valery Lagu-nov. In 2010 he won the youth grant from the independent Triumph award and in 2012 was recog-nized with the Ballet magazine Soul of Dance prize (Up-and-Coming-Star nomination).
His repertoire with the Company includes the leading role in La Bayadere, Giselle, Hamlet, Ivan the Terrible, Lady of the Camellias, Le Corsaire, A Legend of Love, Nutcracker, Onegin, Raymonda, The Sleeping Beauty, Spartacus, Swan Lake, Taming of the Schrew as well as in Ratmansky’s Classical Symphony, Balanchine’s Emeralds and Apollo, and more.
He participated in the Bolshoi Theatre’s Studio of New Choreography project. In 2006 he was among the creators of the num-ber I think, therefore I am to music by group Coil (choreography by A. Abalichina, D. Hussein).
In 2011 he appeared at the star gala-concert in memoriam of Galina Ulanova from the cycle “The Russian ballet icons” on the stage of the London Coliseum — there he danced a section from The Red Poppy by R. Glière (choreography by V. Vasiliev) with Daria Khokhlova and pas de deux from Flames of Paris with Ekaterina Krysanova.
