Anastasia Matvienko

Kirov Ballet

anastasia-matvienkoAnastasia was born on 2nd of September 1982 in Sevastopol, Ukraine. She studied from 1996 to 2001 at the Kiev State Choreographic School. She was a first soloist dancer at the Ukranian National Theatre of Ballet and Opera from April 2001 to October 2007. Since October 2007, Anastasia is a principal dancer of Opera and Ballet Mikhailovsky, St.Petersburg, Russia

Anastasia has received awards in major international ballet competitions including: a Silver Medal at the 2002, Fourth International Serge Lyfar Ballet Competition; the Best Duet Award and First Award of Press-Jury at the 2004 Varna International Ballet Competition; and the Gold Medal at the 2005, Tenth International Ballet Competition and Contest of Choreographers in Moscow.

She has guested as a principal dancer at such historical theaters as Arena di Verona and the Teatro alla Scala. Her repretoire includes: The Sleeping Beauty (Aurora), Swan Lake(Odette/Odille), La Bayadere (Nikia), The Nutcracker (Clara), La Sylphide (Sylphide), Giselle(Giselle), Raymonda (Raymonda), Don Quixote by Petipa/Gorsky (Kitri), Le Corsaire(Medora), Don Quixote by Rudolf Nureyev (Kitri), Spartacus by Georgy Kovtun (Sabina), andRomeo and Juliet by Leonid Lavrovsky (Juliet).
